After withdrawing from the last two drafts, Vezenkov appears to be ready to make the jump from Europe to the NBA. Now 21 years old, Vezenkov has fine-tuned a long-range shot which should serve him just as well in the States as it did playing for Barcelona. The native of Cyprus has a quick release, excelling in catch-and-shoots and is also able to create a bit off the dribble. The son of a coach, Vezenkov shows excellent technique and has a high basketball IQ. He understands spacing on the court and is a solid ball handler. While he displays sound shooting and basketball instincts, it's uncertain how the rest of his game will translate, as his overall athleticism lags behind what you see in the NBA. He doesn't have a quick first step and doesn't possess a great deal of strength, and those deficiencies present big concerns when it comes to his defense. However, with his solid understanding of basketball principals and defensive rotations, he rarely gets caught out of position. Vezenkov doesn't have a huge upside but is an accurate shooter from deep who may be worth taking late in the second round.
